The Mummy Returns (2001)

This movie is Dwayne Johnson’s Hollywood debut and the second film in the “Mummy” series. Stephen Sommers directed this movie while Brendan Fraser had the lead role.

Nine years after the last film, adventurers Rick and Evelyn are now marry and have a son named Alex. In Egypt, Evelyn discovers the armor of the legendary Scorpion King and brings it back to London. But everything changes when Alex wears the armor and later gets kidnapped.

Dwayne Johnson gave an outstanding performance as the legendary ancient Egyptian warrior Scorpion King.  Later, in 2002, he also appeared in the same role in the spin-off film Scorpion King, playing the young man.

Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

Dwayne Johnson joins the “Fast & Furious” series of car action movies starring Vin Diesel as Luke Hobbs. Since then, he has become an indispensable character in the series.

In the movie, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne) is an agent of the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service. He hunts down Dominic (Vin Diesel) and his family. Later in the next movie, he gradually becomes part of the family.

After running away for a long time, Victor corners him.

Dwayne Johnson plays as Paul Doyle, a muscular ex-con. He suited this character very well because there is no other actor with such great similarities for the role. The goofy exchanges between the “Muscle Trio” including Adrian and Daniel (played by Anthony Mackie) will make you grin involuntarily. This is the film where Master Rock’s comedic acting blossomed.

Snitch (2013)

Dwayne Johnson stars in this climactic action film based on a true story. He plays an ordinary father who takes advantage of the plea bargaining system.

John Matthews, who runs a transportation business, learns that his son Jason has been caught red-handed in possession of drugs. Later, he finds out that Jason was innocent and his friends framed him.

John is threatened for life if he even tries to snitch on these criminals. Risking his life, he negotiates with D.A. Keegan and becomes a courier guy. Then, he infiltrates the drug cartel to help his convicted son and helps to apprehend the traffickers.

It’s refreshing to see Dwayne Johnson playing a guy who seals his muscles and is extremely normal. You’ll also like the aspect of a father who does everything he can to help his 18-year-old son who has been living away from him.

San Andreas (2015)

This is a film directed by Brad Peyton, who also collaborated on “Rampage: The Great Brawl of the Titans”. The original title, “San Andreas,” refers to the San Andreas fault that runs through California.

Ray is a rescue worker who works for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Suddenly, a huge earthquake strikes California and Ray is sent out in a helicopter. As Ray’s wife Emma and daughter Blake search for help, repeated aftershocks devastate San Francisco.

The full extent of the massive earthquake that the San Andreas Fault may cause is intense, and the natural threats and crumbling cities are frightening. Even in the midst of all this, we want to cheer for Rey, played by Locke, as she struggles to protect her family and save lives.

Central Intelligence (2017)

This movie is an action comedy starring popular comedy actor Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. Dwyane plays as CIA agent Bob, and Kevin Hart co-stars as Calvin, a dull accountant who was a star in high school.

The contrast between the surprisingly transformed Bob and his former star Calvin is amusing. You know that the movie is gonna be hilarious when Bob asks Calvin to help out after being caught up in a conspiracy. The comical exchange between the two is sure to make you laugh.

Rampage (2018)

This movie is based on a game in which giant beasts rampage through the city.

Energine fails a genome-editing experiment and gene samples fall from the space station. The result is a wolf, an alligator, and a gorilla; all three of become giant creatures. These three behemoths head to Chicago and go on a rampage, destroying the city.

The three animals become almost invincible giants through genetic samples that incorporate the strengths of various animals. On top of that, they are not affected slightly by military attacks.

Davis is surprised when his best friend, George, a gorilla, suddenly goes berserk. He struggles to help and does his best to make the best out of this colossal problem (pun-intended).

The friendship between Gorilla and Dwayne Johnson in this movie is exceptionally close. You need to watch this movie for the extra thrills and excitement.

Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

Jumanji: The Next Level is a sequel to the Robin Williams-starring fantasy adventure film Jumanji. This film follows the adventures of high school students trapped in ‘Jumanji’. However, this classic board game has now turned into a video game.

You’ll see four main characters; Spencer, Fridge, Martha, and Bethany. Due to some mischievous activities at school, they serve detention. The principal punishes them by telling them to clean out the basement.

Fridge discovers a mysterious game machine and all of them get curious. Then, the four of them choose their own characters to start the game. Next thing you know, everyone get sucked into the game.

Following the blockbuster success of the film, the third film in the series, Jumanji/Next Level is expected to release soon. As well as Lord Locke, the game has also been leveled up with Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas, all of whom have played in-game characters.

These were our top recommended Dwayne Johnson movies. Although he has played in many other movies as well, this list prioritizes his wide spectrum of performances.

We think Dwayne is so popular due to his down-to-earth nature with an electrifying personality. Most of all, he has a great sense of comedy, which has opened up a lot in recent years! Here’s hoping we get another hit like Dr. Brave Stone in the “Jumanji” series.
